foods!

Yesterday we went to Jess & Rachael’s. We made some delicious food and ate for a long long time.

We started off with a nice salad:

spinach and endive salad with red onion and pears

Then, onto another salad:

sweet corn and black bean salad served with shiitake bacon

Next was couscous and a lentil salad:

parmesan and green onion couscous

lentil salad with toasted almonds, red onions, cilantro, and lemon zest

There was also calamari and tempura veggies:

fried calamari with 2 dipping sauces: a rosemary aioli and chunky marinara sauce & tempura veggies

Lastly, there was tuna tartare:

tuna tartare with sweet soy reduction, sriracha, toasted sesame seeds, and green onions served with fried wontons

Rachael enjoying some foods and wines.

Jess eating some tuna tartare.

It was super fun…and we nibbled for around 5 hours. Crazy. Yummy. We should do it again.

PS – There are a few more pics on my flickr page. Check ’em out if you like.

Sweet Stuff

I’ve done better this week than last with updating this blog….but not much better.

This week has been good.

1. Monday

2. On Wednesday, we went out for sushi. It was gooooood.

3. After I was done eating, I decided I needed some Glamour Shots!

That’sridiculous.

4. I saw this on the bathroom wall.

Can you read that? I’m not sure if I can only because I actually saw it.
Why would someone kiss the wall in a public bathroom. Ewwwwwwwwww.

5. I ❤ Laundry Lounge. They have magazines and a change machine that’ll take 20’s and free wi-fi. They have great signs too!

6. While I was doing laundry yesterday, I started taking apart this sweater that I have that’s super soft but never fit me.

7. Here are three things I got when I went shopping Thursday:

holy crap

So last night, Marshall was listening to some music…and Tupac was on…and all of a sudden we hear “get down. get down on the ground” being yelled. I thought it was part of the song until I realized that it was a little too loud and sounded crazy real. So I looked out the window and there were all these cops running by. I went to the window in the kitchen and see this guy laying on the ground in handcuffs. Crazy. Later, a fire truck was here. Which I thought was kinda ridiculous. Can I get some freakin sleep?

Apparently, this guy that goes around flashing people lived here. In these apartments. Ewwwwww.

But he’s gone now so that’s good.

Ugh.

Sunday again? Already?

I just realized that I haven’t written a blog since last Sunday.

To be quite honest, I feel like alot of shit is going on in my life right now (not to mention I’m at the laundry mat) so I can’t really concentrate at the moment. I think it would take me 4 hours to do a Sweet Stuff blog so I’ll just tell you guys about yesterday I guess.

I went to the Flea Market at the drive-in with Rachael, Jess, and Jenne. It was fun but I didn’t see anything I wanted to buy except for some rice crispy treats…which I didn’t buy. No one really found much so we went to Value Village after that. I got a clock to sell on etsy, something to hold my records, and a necklace. I haven’t decided if I’ll wear the necklace, make something of it to sell, or just sell it like it is.

Ok, ok, ok. Later

(wow, that blog sucked right?)

first things first:

Ok I have to go ahead and get this out of the way. Maybe it doesn’t matter. It probably doesn’t.

So I was taking this picture of this sweet clock radio and thermos that I bought yesterday (to sell on etsy soon). When I turned on the radio Thriller was on. Not the version on my ipod. The version with the crazy talk and laugh. Whatever. So, cool I guess. Up next you ask. Several more ridiculous 80’s songs (also, for anyone that actually clicked that link. all you need is the first 30 seconds. doesn’t that sound familiar? like a different 80’s song? that i really know but really can’t think of right at this moment.) So they go to commercial and it’s not the car dealership commercial. It’s the “we’re gonna tell you about what music we play instead of just playing another song” commercial. They make this big spill about how they play all the “good stuff” before myspace, facebook, and twitter even exsisted (b/c that definitely means 80’s music only). And the very next song is freakin Beyonce. Confused? yes.

Ok. I’m done with that.

Here’s the pic of the clock and thermos I bought. They’re sweet.stuff

I also have a few pictures from when I was in Rhine. They’re actually mostly dogs though. I was pretty much just hanging out with them the whole time…and painting of course…which I have no pictures of…
cactus

These are the pups I was taking care of:

this is how windy it was.

Lastly, this is a horrible picture. Trust me. It was horrible in real life too.
mullet!
she had on the most amazingly awful awesome crazy mullet wig i’ve ever seen. where do you even buy something like that? it was halfway down her back. notice the nice lady sideburn curls. hot.

k. I have things to do now.
